Native State - Movement and Somatic Coaching

Still dealing with pain or tension
that nothing seems to fix?

One-on-one Online Feldenkrais Sessions

There is something that happens when you finish a session and you don’t have to go anywhere.

You stay on your floor, or your couch, or your bed. The new sense of ease in your back, the softness in your shoulders, the breath that goes all the way down, it has time to settle in. Your nervous system gets to absorb what just happened without being interrupted by traffic, conversation, or a ten-minute walk back to the car.

That is what receiving a remote online session makes possible.

Feldenkrais Functional Integration Online Sessions

All one-on-one Feldenkrais sessions with me are currently via Zoom.
No studio, no commute, no rushing to get there on time.

What Happens in a Session

You find a quiet spot at home. You can be lying on the floor or sitting on a chair. You set up your device so I can see you.

I guide you entirely through voice. The same intelligence that my hands would use on a table, tracking how you breathe, how your ribs move, where your weight shifts, what your pelvis does when you turn your head, I now bring through observation and instruction.

I watch how you organize yourself in movement. You explore guided by my voice. I listen to what you notice. We find what is shifting and follow it.

Why Online Works

The question I hear most: can it really work without touch? It can, and clients surprise themselves with how quickly they feel it. Feldenkrais works through the nervous system’s ability to learn. You take in new movement information, you compare it against old habits, something shifts. Attention and awareness do that work, and neither of them need a massage table.

What clients notice:

You integrate better.

After a session in a studio, most people drive or take public transport home. The learning is still happening in the body, but the body is also navigating traffic, social interaction, the street. When we work online, you finish the session and you stay. You rest where you are.
That window of quiet after a session is some of the most important time your nervous system has to consolidate what it just discovered.

You are already in your own environment.

Your home, your room, the place you know well. A familiar space makes the nervous system feel safe. And a nervous system that feels safe learns faster.

Chronic pain lives in context.

The way you sleep, the way you sit, the way you move around your own home. In a studio, none of that is visible. Here, we can work in the exact positions and situations where your pain actually shows up.

The hour is just the hour.

No travel, no parking, no effort to get here. When nothing stands between you and the session, you show up.

Location stops mattering.

Whether you are in Belgrade, Berlin, or Bangkok, we can work. Time zone coordination is the only logistics involved.

Who This is For

  • People dealing with chronic tension, recurring pain, or that persistent sense of tightness that no amount of stretching quite resolves.
  • People recovering from injury who want to address the movement habits that formed around protecting themselves.
  • People who depend on the quality of their movement, dancers, musicians, athletes, performers, and want a more refined, attentive way of working with their body.
  • People who have had Feldenkrais before and want to continue.
  • And people who are simply curious about what it means to move with more ease and less effort.

No prior experience with the Feldenkrais Method is necessary.

Session Format and Investment

  • Sessions run 60 minutes via Zoom.
  • We start with a few minutes of conversation about what you are working with.
  • At the end I may give you something small to practice before we meet again.
  • Investment: €75-125 per session, sliding scale.

What You Will Need

  • A device with a camera. A laptop or tablet works well. A phone propped on a cushion is enough.
  • A reasonably stable internet connection.
  • Enough floor space to lie down comfortably, or a chair you can sit in freely. No yoga mat or equipment needed.
  • Comfortable clothing you can move in easily.

The discovery call is 20 minutes via Zoom. We talk about what you are dealing with, I answer any questions you have, and we figure out together whether working this way makes sense for you.

What the Feldenkrais Method is and How it Works

Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais was a physicist, mechanical engineer, and judo black belt. He began developing his method in the 1940s, drawing from neuroscience, developmental psychology, biomechanics, and the study of how humans learn to move. He was writing about the brain’s capacity to rewire itself decades before that idea entered mainstream science.

The method has two forms:
Awareness Through Movement uses verbally guided movement sequences, usually in a group setting.
Functional Integration is the hands-on, one-on-one form of the method. Traditionally, the practitioner works through touch, moving the client’s body directly. In these online sessions, I do the same work through voice and observation instead of hands.

The International Feldenkrais Federation represents more than 7,000 certified practitioners across 21 countries. Becoming certified takes four years and 800 hours of supervised training. Physiotherapists, neurological rehabilitation centres, and performing arts schools across the world use it as part of their work.

Feldenkrais hands-on sessions are not like a massage or exercise in the conventional sense. No manipulation of tissue, no adjustment of bones, no correcting the body toward some ideal shape.

The tension patterns formed over years, from old injuries and habitual postures, run in the background. You stop noticing them.
A Feldenkrais session slows things down enough that they become visible again.
When the brain finds an easier option, it reorganizes movement with less effort and less strain.

What the Research Shows

Dr. Feldenkrais’s early writings on sensory-motor learning were validated by scientific research that came decades after he began this work. Studies on children’s motor development in the 1980s confirmed many of his core claims about how people actually learn to move.

Since then, research has built up steadily.
A 2022 systematic review and meta-analysis in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health found that the Feldenkrais Method produced meaningful improvements in pain, disability, and quality of life across multiple patient groups. For spinal pain specifically, results were on par with standard physiotherapy.

Separate studies have documented measurable reductions in chronic low back pain, improvement in neck pain and function, and better balance and mobility in older adults and people with neurological conditions including Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis. A randomized controlled trial published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation followed people with chronic neck and scapular pain for a full year after Feldenkrais treatment and found the improvements were sustained.

awareness through movement

The International Feldenkrais Federation summarizes the current research this way: systematic reviews have shown the method’s effectiveness in improving mobility, balance, and pain management, with effects that come through learning processes which positively affect self-efficacy, body awareness, and self-image.

The research is still growing.

About Nikola

I am a somatic practitioner, a certified Feldenkrais Method teacher, and the founder of Native State.

I work with your body as a living, intelligent process.

In practice this means I listen deeply to how your system organizes itself. We do not chase symptoms or treat your body as a problem to correct. Instead, I observe how you move, breathe, protect, find support, and repeat old responses. Together we discover where new possibilities can begin to emerge.

My work draws on the Feldenkrais Method, NeuroAffective Touch, craniosacral biodynamics, Aletheia Coaching, parts work, and presence-based inquiry.

Ready to begin?

Book a free 20-minute discovery call and we will talk about what you are working with and whether this approach makes sense for you.

The call is a chance for us to meet, speak about what you are looking for, and sense whether working together feels right.
